Fast Installation – typically 1-2 minutes per post
Shorter posts – the tighter fit may enable use of posts with 20% less in the ground
Exact – Posts are rarely deflected by stones
No point required – this saves costs and post length
Immediate consolidation – the vibration will firm loose soil
Quiet operation – no disturbed neighbours or animals
Safety – no falling weights or exposed ropes. All rotating parts are enclosed
Minimal wearing parts – no auger teeth to replace
No post length limitation – new machines can handle all practical post lengths
The machine will install most types of post up to a maximum of 250mm diameter and 4.5m long in a wide variety of soil types. Clearly it is impossible to install a wooden post in solid rock, or indeed any soil with an ASTM blow count of 65+ using vibration alone. In these soils a pilot hole can be drilled and we can supply equipment which can drill solid rock.
The machine is arranged for one-man operation and has installed 180 intermediate posts in one hour. Straining posts 200mm diameter (without points) can be driven 1.2m deep in stony clay in about 25 seconds. The machine is not only quick but also very accurate, post and rail fences can be erected without pre drilling holes and no need for concrete.
Vibrated posts are extremely tight in all types of soil particularly newly made up around where the vibration actually compacts the soil. The Autoguide system uses a variable frequency vibration, which can be adjusted continuously in use for maximum output.
The MOROOKA mounted system comprises a tracked dumper truck, part of a Parmiter Professional Post Driver and the Autoguide Vibrator and mast assembly. The machine can be operated on either side and extends in a 180º arc up to 2.5m from the pivot. Track controls are fitted to the operator’s control position allowing slow speed movement of the complete machine.
Posts are stored on the bed of the unit within comfortable reach of the operator. The vibrator unit includes a post clamp, which transmits all the vibration through the post to the ground. The mast is adjustable in all planes to enable post installation under most angles of operation.
The extremely low ground pressure allows operation in very wet conditions and on easily damaged sites. The machine has worked on extremely steep gradients – although clearly stability limits should not be exceeded.
