Welder/Fabricator

Job Description: We’re looking for a skilled Welder Fabricator to manufacture parts from raw material. This role focuses on cutting, bending, machining, and welding components to drawing. Specific Duties:  - Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical specifications and weld symbols (e.g. BS EN 2553) - Carry out MIG welding to a high standard on mild steel components in various positions. (TIG/MMA advantageous where required) - Fabricate and assemble components using jigs, fixtures and manual measuring equipment - •Perform cutting, drilling, grinding, and preparation of materials prior to welding - Ensure all welds meet quality standards and acceptance criteria (e.g. visual inspection, dimensional checks) - Maintain consistent weld quality in line with company procedures and industry standards (e.g. BS EN ISO 17637:2016 visual inspection) - Work across multiple fabrication tasks including structural frames, brackets, and hydraulic equipment assemblies - Carry out self-inspection and identify non-conformances, reporting issues where necessary ​- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in engineering drawings and production requirements driven by customer needs - Support continuous improvement - Work collaboratively with design, stores and assembly teams to ensure smooth production flow - Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment in line with HSE requirements - Ensure correct use and maintenance of tools, welding equipment and PPE - Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards Required Experience:  Essential - You must possess good MIG welding skills within a production environment and be able to work to deadlines and weld neatly at speed - Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.) - Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) - Experience with cutting, bending, drilling, and general fabrication processes - Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings - Be able to work from own initiative and be an effective team member, working with supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output - Must be able to inspect own work and have excellent attention to detail - Must be NVQ Level 3 or Time Served Desirable - Professional certification (e.g. welding certificate/previous coding experience) - Forklift certification - Experience working within a Quality Management System and an awareness of any Environmental impacts - Experience with press brakes or machining equipment ​ Personal Qualities: - Reliable and hardworking - Takes pride in fabrication quality - Positive, proactive attitude - Good team player - Flexible and willing to adapt - Strong problem-solving skills - Committed to working safely Please get in touch if you require any further information.

Mobile Service Engineer

Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being out in the field? Autoguide Equipment is looking for a Mobile Service Engineer to join our team, delivering expert servicing, maintenance, and repairs on our British-manufactured machinery. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role where every day brings a new challenge, from diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to ensuring equipment performs at its very best. Purpose of the Role: To provide high-quality onsite and workshop-based service and support to customers of Autoguide Equipment, ensuring products are maintained, repaired and presented to the highest standard. Main Duties: - Carrying out repairs and service work both onsite and in the workshop on the company’s portfolio of British Manufactured products. - Dealing face to face with clients from the agricultural, construction, utilities, telecommunication and ground care industries - Working with pneumatic, hydraulics, electrics and mechanical aspects of products - Test and fault find when required showing attention to detail to ensure that nothing is missed which would otherwise cause the units to fail inspection and test - Assemble/clean components ready for dispatch completing PDI sheets - Complete Job sheets to a high standard from repair description to parts used - Make sure Service vehicle is clean and presentable at all times and stocked with fast moving parts Working With: Sales Manager to enable smooth running of the aftersales operation of the business. Required Experience: Essential Skills & Experience - Agricultural, plant or commercial engineering a must - Experience using a variety of hydraulic, electric and manual tools - Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings - Attention to detail - Be an effective team member, working with supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output - Have a sense of responsibility and ownership - You will need to be accurate and attentive, but have the flexibility to solve issues under pressure and within short time constraints - Striving for improvements in process techniques to reduce process times and improve consistency of quality ________________________________________ Desirable Qualifications & Experience - Relevant agricultural, plant or commercial engineering level 3 or equivalent NVQ qualification - Crane experience and ALLMI Lorry Loader Card - Experience working within a Quality Management System and an awareness of any Environmental impacts - LOLER accreditation/experience Personal Attributes: - Good customer service skills, interaction, communication and the ability to up sell and maximise profits - Be an effective team member, working with supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output - Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies - Assertive, optimistic, resilient and welcomes change - Proactively contributes to the team a collaborative approach to working with others - Self-aware and shows moral courage, openness and honesty in all dealings - Good team-working skills as well as the ability to work on your own - Self-motivated, flexible, proactive and committed - Complete tasks with accuracy and in a timely manor Company Values: Accountability Knowledge Sharing Unique Maintaining High Standards This mainly Mobile Service Engineers role means every day is different, but maintaining the support of the Autoguide team back at the factory.
