Terrain Master – TC800

Autoguide have added to our fleet of bespoke machinery with the new Terrain Master TC800, created to be a scaled up version of the successful Terrain Master TC600. We first designed the smaller machines in 2011 and have developed them over time along with our extensive portfolio of other bespoke solutions, such as tracked fencing machines and drilling rigs.

Our team put together the design to offer a more stable base unit with a much uprated lorry loader. The Palfinger PK14502 SH (supplied by TH White Devizes) boasts a capacity of 1200kg with a 12m outreach – a specification requested by our customer.

Post Drivers

Vibrating Post Installers

Introduction

The Autoguide Postmaster range allows the 2 man team to install posts faster, quieter and safer than conventional machines. The unique clamp holds the post securely with minimal damage to the tops, it also allows post extraction for old posts or repositioning.

The simple connection to all makes and model of excavator* gives the user a versatile machine ideal for fencing contractors, using the machine full time, to the occasional fencer. The robust design welcomes hire fleet users and is a great addition to the attachment fleet.

Advantages

Minimal Damage to Posts
Quieter
Minimal ground disruption

"As a repeat customer, Country Works highly recommends the Postmaster. It consistently performs above expectations. We were able to install 60 chestnut post and rail bays, plus gate posts and a stile in 1.5 days. This is 3 days quicker than if we'd used an auger, and 6 days if installed by hand."
Matt Harriyott, Country Works

Optional Extras

ROCK SPIKE A rock spike can be supplied to act as a pilot for the post. This can be gripped by the standard jaws. Standard size 60mm diameter 1m long
POST TWIST Specially designed to be used in conjunction with position critical posts the twister allows the operator to rotate the posts through 15 deg in each direction while driving in. This is used extensively on solar farm work to keep the tops in the correct orientation
GROUND DIBBER To create a concrete back fill hole and leave the central bar in place. A 250 x 150mm compacted void is left in the ground and either a length of re-bar or angle is let in the ground. The advantages are no soil away and a compacted hole prepped for cement
CUSTOMISED POST CLAMPS A wide range of clamps are available to suit posts of all shapes, sizes and material. With a drawing of the top of the post the jaws will be manufactured to suit
FLOW CONTROL OPTIONAL For hard to reach jobs a larger machine is sometimes necessary. To protect the motor and seals it can be necessary to add a flow control option to prevent internal damage.

Terrain Master TC600 Video

This video shows the new Terrain Master TC600 equipped with a Palfinger PK 9001 EH crane and an Autoguide Equipment 40,000PXV Auger Unit. It is being operated completely via remote control, including tracks, crane, support legs and auger attachment.

The first machines have tracked their way out of our workshops and off to the customer. These have been configured as the Terrain Master TC600 Crane unit, for use with all aspects of utility pole and transformer work, and offering the following benefits:

  • A flexible highly manoeuvrable machine, able to carry off-road up to 22m poles and a transformer. The machine can auger the hole, install the pole and lift the transformer into position
  • Fully remote controlled to allow the driver to drive the machine from a safe distance in the field, with the additional advantage of safe, easy loading from the ground with lashing points in the track frame – so the operator never needs to get on the bed of the lorry
  • Incorporating a number of advanced features designed to appeal to overhead
linesmen who have to repair utility poles in hostile environments
  • In addition, the base unit can be fitted with a variety of different attachments:
  • Access Platform
  • Detachable or Tipping Bed
  • Post Driver
  • All of these can be designed and built to suit your specific requirements.

Introducing the Terrain Master TC600

Autoguide has launched a new track mounted carrier for loader cranes and work platforms, aimed at utility companies.

The 7.5 tonne tracked TC600 Terrain Master has rubber tracks and has been specifically designed to carry either a nine metre/tonne loader crane or a 15 metre aerial work platform.

It has a top speed of 11kph and is available with full radio remote control and side, front and rear stabilisers. The unit also features a 4,500kg capacity electric winch and a charging station for the remote control batteries.

Autoguide has sold the first two units, mounted with a Palfinger PK9001 loader crane, to Newcastle-based VLS – a supplier of leased vehicle to the electric supply industry. The crane has a maximum reach of 8.7 metres and a maximum capacity of 5.7 tonnes.

Autoguide’s managing director Richard Robinson said: “The machine is built to the required specification entirely in-house. The TC600 can also be fitted with a 15 metre access platform instead of the loader crane.”

A video of the TC600 in action can be viewed here.
